Task
Project 1C tasks students with creating an architectural proposal for Reclaimed Architecture: A Dance Annexe, a two-storey standalone building designed to preserve and promote local dance culture in Malacca. The building, an extension of Encore Melaka Theatre, will host cultural dance programs and public activities. The goal is to balance functionality and cultural preservation while reflecting the Genius Loci of the site.
Interim 1
A Formal & Spatial Manuscript - to show how conceptual ideas developed into formal and spatial strategies and architectural language and the intended outcomes.
Interim 2
A Butter Paper Session is to showcase and present the design intention and process through schematic site plan, floor plans, 1 section (with context), 1 elevation (with material intention and context), perspective montages of ‘poetic and experiential spaces’, study/ mock up models, structural and passive design strategies.
